Paddle Boarding Trip Two – Teston Lock

I took up paddle boarding at the start of the summer, something which I have always wanted to do. After my first paddle boarding experience in Maidstone, I took some friends (who have also caught the paddle boarding bug) down to Teston Lock, to try that part of the river Medway.

We went to Teston a day after a a friends wedding. So we were all very hungover, however paddle boarding is a great cure for a hangover. Nerveless, it was a very hot day, very busy too. I was amazed that there was a lot of fishermen fishing on the most busiest part of the river, I did wounder if it made fishing that part of the river impossible with the amount of boat traffic going up and down. Yes, the fishermen didn’t like us.

Teston has two cafes towards the Waterbury Bridge, on the left side there a boat hire / pub and on the right is a pop up cafe horse shoe box. The hire boat / pub you have to be careful with because for some strange reason they don’t like you mooring up using their boat jetty which I thought was very weird.

Teston is the best place to go, if you have started any water sports. It’s has great jetty to get in and out of the water, there is always a great friendly atmosphere down there.

Below are some photos of the trip.
