Moving to Aylesford

It’s almost been a year since I moved to the lovely historic village of Aylesford. At the time I was still managing one of the historic pubs in the village, I’m no longer, that I will cover in another blog post. I can always remember saying that I would never move to Aylesford, it’s to quiet, it doesn’t have a selection of shops like Snodland.

However, I was talking to a friend, he was looking for a lodger, so I took him on the offer. But there was one problem, I came with a dog. He was more than happy to take me and Betsy on as lodgers.

I kept this quiet from my Mum who I was living with. It wasn’t until a couple of days that I was moving out that I told her. I was more worried that she would try keep Betsy, like any other person would do, to my amazement, she took it rather well.

I can remember the night that I moved in. I had to catch a dog friendly taxi as Betsy had to accompany me on the journey. After being dropped off at the new house, the taxi driver drove off, with my stuff in the boot, it was rather hilarious.

Going back to my thought about me not liking to move to rural sleepy Aylesford, I love it here . You can get about your business without anybody bothering you, everyone knows everyone, and the residents are very friendly.

Betsy and I will be staying for a long time.
