Last week I got invited to send off the great people who were taking part in the Royal British Legion Industries ride with a veteran. It was a great honour to be there; there were over forty people taking part. These great people were riding from Aylesford to Ypres, a staggering 241 kilometres.
Among the riders were deputy mayor Cllr Steve Hammond and parish councillor Cllr Trevor Walker. I must say a very well done to everyone involved and to everyone who completed it. In total, every rider has managed to raise £18,880. Every penny raised will provide safe, warm housing while ensuring everyone has a fair opportunity to gain employment, regardless of health conditions or disabilities.
