Aylesford Big Lunch, my first one!

So I’ve been off for a week, and it’s been lovely to spend time with my dog, Betsy, and enjoy the sun. Without realising it, I was off for the Aylesford Big Lunch, which is a massive event in our village, and has been going on for some time. But for the last three years, I haven’t been able to attend due to work.

The big lunch was created by Eden communities to tackle the greatest issues facing humanity. We need strong and resilient communities, yet societies are becoming increasingly fragmented. We believe we are better equipped to tackle challenges when we face them together. They work with communities to help everyone get involved and feel like they belong in their community, wherever they live.

All of Aylesford Village and surrounding communities got together on our riverside lawn; we just picked a spot and rolled out our picnic blankets. We got together and enjoyed the live bands, catching up with each other, and having a good old natter.

It was a great event, and I was so glad I could attend.

Well done, to Nikki and the team who organised it.

Here are some pictures of the event.
